Aim:
The aim of this talk is to help other clinicians who are starting out or are more novice working with CAS and motor speech.
Workshop Description:
This engaging and practical workshop explores key perspectives for clinicians learning to deliver effective motor-based therapy for children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). Drawing on real-world experiences from early-career speech-language pathologists, this session highlights the realities of starting out in motor speech therapy and the common challenges clinicians face.
Through a guided discussion format, presenters share five essential “top tips” to help shift clinical thinking—from focusing on what the clinician is doing, to understanding what the child needs. The workshop integrates current research with lived clinical experience, providing actionable strategies to support assessment, therapy planning, and skill development in CAS.
