Dr Elizabeth (Liz) Murray

Liz is a nationally and internationally recognised speech pathologist with experience and excellence in clinical, research and lecturing in speech sound disorders, specialising in childhood apraxia of speech (CAS, aka dyspraxia/ developmental verbal dyspraxia).

 

She has over 19 years experience in disability, community health and non-government settings and is an experienced clinical educator. She sees children with childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), complex communication needs, late talkers, hearing loss, developmental delays, cerebral palsy, autism and other genetic conditions, language, reading and spelling problems. 

She grew up with 2 siblings with CAS and having seen speech pathology work for them, wanted to further improve assessment and treatment. 

 

She completed her PhD in 2015 in management of children with CAS. She completed the world's first randomised control trial comparing the Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme-3rd edition to the Rapid Syllable Transition treatment. She now conducts research into improving assessment and diagnosis to differentiate speech sound disorders so children get the right treatment. She has attracted over 3 million dollars in research funding, authored over 20 research journal articles and presented to Australian and international audiences. Her workshops and clinical mentoring sessions are highly sought after. She has lectured at multiple universities including The University of Sydney from 2010-2020 in speech sound disorders, child language, advanced phonology, research methods, evidence-based practice and linguistics and phonetics; ensuring she knows the current best practices.

 

She is currently working on 4 research grants with teams funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) in Australia and the Once Upon A Time Foundation in the USA.

She loves being a clinician and seeing her clients meet their goals. She is warm, encouraging, fun and flexible. She works with families with data-informed decision-making and provides research-based treatment.

She is trained in multiple therapy programs including Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC), Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme - 3rd edition (NDP3), Rapid Syllable Transition treatment (ReST), PROMPT, Ultrasound biofeedback, Speech Intelligibility Treatment, Maximal Pairs and treatment of the Empty Set for phonology, Multiple Oppositions, Shape Coding, Story Champs, Robust Vocabulary Instruction and the Lidcombe Programme for Early Stuttering and more! 

Lauren Osborne

Senior Speech Pathologist

Lauren is a Speech Pathologist with more than 15 years experience working with children. She also has experience providing clinical supervision for other Speech Pathologists, and supervising students completing their clinical placements.

​

Lauren is a creative, genuine and knowledgeable speech pathologist. She is always learning and is innovative in her work with her clients. She enjoys working with parents, families, teachers, and other professionals to help her clients to achieve their goals.

​

She has worked across several different settings, including private practice, community health, early intervention and schools.

She has experience working with children from 1 to 18 years of age with speech, language, literacy and/or learning difficulties, including those diagnosed with conditions such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Global Developmental Delay and hearing impairment.

​

Her particular interests are speech sound disorders, and literacy (reading and writing/spelling) difficulties.

She uses a number of different approaches and programs in her work, including: Sounds-Write, Hanen- It Takes Two to Talk, Nuffield Dyspraxia Program- 3rd Edition (NDP3), PROMPT, Key Word Sign and Rapid Syllable Transition treatment (ReST).

Rebecca (Bec) MacCallion

Speech Pathologist

Coach and trainer

Rebecca MacCallion (Bec) has over 7 years’ experience working with children with cerebral palsy, hearing impairment, voice disorders, language and speech sound disorders.

She is a fun, innovative, caring and evidence-based speech pathologist who builds on her clients and their family’s strengths to help them achieve their goals.

 

Her special interests are voice, language and speech sound disorders. She is a highly knowledgeable therapist having worked as a lecturer at Macquarie University and a speech pathologist at The Shepherd Centre specialising in hearing, language and speech. She has worked with children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech using Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) treatment, Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme-3rd edition (NDP3), Rapid Syllable Transition treatment (ReST) and Concurrent Therapy programs and works well with children with multiple needs.

 

She is also a highly trained vocal artist and has experience working with transgender clients to achieve their desired vocal quality. She is trained in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and works well with modifying accents where they restrict communication.

Bec does speech pathology online, over the internet (telehealth) in the afternoon / evening.

Jessica (Jess) Murray

Allied Health Assistant

Client Experience Team

Jess is who you will talk to most times you call us! She helps us with finding out how to best help you and booking appointments.

​

Jess is a friendly, very hardworking, encouraging and organised member of our team. She is a trained chef and helps the Remarkable team and her clients stay on track by breaking things down into steps and helping us follow through!
 

Jess can work in conjunction with speech pathology sessions or complete speech pathology programs to fit your schedule and increase your child's treatment intensity.

She loves helping clients meet their goals under supervision from the speech pathologists on our team. She has allied health training as well as training in programs we deliver such as Sounds-Write, Talkabout, Key Word Sign and Rapid Syllable Transition (ResT) treatment.  

Marly Asad

Allied Health Assistant
Speech Pathology Student (Year 3)

Marly is a kind, organised, energetic and fun allied health assistant. She is optimistic and problem solves to find the best solutions for children and their families. She is a speech pathology student at Australian Catholic University (ACU).

 

Marly can work in conjunction with speech pathology sessions or complete speech pathology programs to fit your schedule and increase your child's treatment intensity.

 

She loves helping clients meet their goals under supervision from the speech pathologists on our team. She sees clients in the clinic or online.

Sarah El Hassan

Client Experience Team

Sarah is a kind, helpful and empathetic member of our Client Experience Team! She is here to help us all meet our goals by organising sessions, answering queries and supporting the day to day running of our clinic.

 

She is a hearing and speech student at Macquarie University. 

​

She is the eldest child in a big family and has personal experience understanding the demands of family life, with and without the need for speech pathology to help with communication! You might see her in the clinic, talk to her on the phone or email.
