Liz is a nationally and internationally recognised speech pathologist with experience and excellence in clinical, research, clinical education and lecturing in speech sound disorders, specialising in childhood apraxia of speech (CAS). She has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) (Honours 1) and a Doctor of Philosophy in assessment and treatment of childhood apraxia of speech. 

​

She loves being a clinician and clinical coach! She is encouraging, authentic, fun and flexible. She works with families with data-informed decision-making and provides research-based treatment. She has over 19 years experience in disability, community health and non-government settings and is an experienced clinical educator. She loves helping her clients meet their goals and supports infants to adults with CAS, complex communication needs, late talkers, hearing loss, developmental delays, cerebral palsy, autism and other genetic conditions, language, reading and spelling problems.

She grew up with 2 siblings with CAS and has first hand experience and empathy for other families. This has driven her to further improve assessment and treatment. She completed her PhD in 2015 in assessment and treatment for children with CAS. She completed the world's first randomised control trial comparing the Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme-3rd edition to the Rapid Syllable Transition treatment. She continues to research assessment and diagnosis of CAS and speech sound disorders and 
treatment of CAS, including different models of delivering Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing therapy. She works within teams of national and international researchers and Remarkable colleagues funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) in Australia and the Once Upon A Time Foundation in the USA.

 

She has attracted over 3 million dollars in research funding, authored over 20 research journal articles and presented to Australian and international audiences. Her workshops and clinical mentoring sessions are highly sought after. She has lectured at multiple universities including The University of Sydney from 2010-2020 in speech sound disorders, child language, advanced phonology, research methods, evidence-based practice and linguistics and phonetics; ensuring she knows the current best practices.


She loves to learn and is a trains others in multiple therapy programs, including:

  • Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC),

  • Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme - 3rd edition (NDP3),

  • Rapid Syllable Transition treatment (ReST),

  • She is also trained in PROMPT, Speech Motor Chaining, Speech Intelligibility Treatment, Maximal Pairs and treatment of the Empty Set for phonology, Multiple Oppositions, Shape Coding, Story Champs, Robust Vocabulary Instruction and the Lidcombe Programme for Early Stuttering and more!

Rebecca MacCallion (Bec) has over 7 years’ experience working with children with cerebral palsy, hearing impairment, voice disorders, language and speech sound disorders.

She is a fun, innovative, caring and evidence-based speech pathologist who builds on her clients and their family’s strengths to help them achieve their goals. She listens closely so even subtle speech issues are detected and treated. 

 

Her special interests are voice, language and speech sound disorders. She is a highly knowledgeable therapist having worked as a lecturer at Macquarie University and a speech pathologist at The Shepherd Centre specialising in hearing, language and speech. She has worked with children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech using Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) treatment, Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme-3rd edition (NDP3), Rapid Syllable Transition treatment (ReST) and Concurrent Therapy programs and works well with children with multiple needs.

 

She is also a highly trained vocal artist and has experience working with transgender clients to achieve their desired vocal quality. She is trained in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and works well with modifying accents where they restrict communication.

Bec does speech pathology online, over the internet (telehealth) in the afternoon / evening.

Selina is a Speech Pathologist with more than 25 years experience working with children in a range of clinical settings including Community Health, Private Practice and Childcare Centres.  

 

Selina is a caring and flexible Speech Pathologist who enjoys collaborating with parents and other professionals to ensure the best care for her clients.  Selina has experience working with children from 12 months to 10 years of age with speech, language, and fluency difficulties including children with Global Developmental Delay, Hearing Impairment and Autism.  

 

Selina has a strong interest in early intervention and enjoys helping young children to achieve their best communication skills. She is trained in:

  • It Takes Two to Talk- The Hanen Program for Parents of Children with Language Delays

  • More than Words- The Hanen Program for Parents of Autistic Children or Children Who May Benefit from Social Communication Support

  • Target Word- The Hanen Program for Parents of Children Who are Late Talker

  • Lidcombe Program, an early stuttering treatment.

  • Evidence Based treatment of Developmental Language Disorder UFLI- An Explicit and Systematic Phonics Program

 

Selina also uses several motor speech approaches in her work with children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech and Speech Motor Delay including Dynamic Temporal Tactile Cueing (DTTC), Nuffield Dyspraxia Program- 3rd Edition (NDP3), and Rapid Syllable Transition Treatment (ReST).

Livia is the newest member to our Remarkable team. She is warm, flexible and empathetic. She strives to foster genuine relationships with her clients and their families that are built on trust and open communication. Livia believes that families are the ultimate experts when it comes to their children and that best-possible outcomes can only be achieved through joint decision-making.

 

Livia is passionate about supporting her clients to speak for themselves, allowing them to express their needs and personalities.

 

Livia's special interests include speech sound disorders, language, and literacy (reading and writing/spelling) disorders. Livia completed a Master of Speech Language Pathology at the University of Sydney, and is trained in providing speech and language assessment and treatment. She is trained in Childhood Apraxia of Speech treatments: Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC), and the Rapid Syllable Transition treatment (ReST) as well language treatments like Robust Vocabulary Instruction, and more. 

 

Livia has a background in observational research which provides unique insights into our competing communication needs in everyday life. Her research focused on bilingual parenting strategies and intercultural communication. As a bilingual speaker and applied linguist, Livia has had a life-long interest in how speech and language work and influence our ability to express ourselves. Her research background and love for learning are why she is so passionate about providing data-driven and evidence-based therapy tailored to the child's individual needs and goals.

Marly Asad

Marly is a kind, organised, energetic and fun speech pathologist. She is optimistic and problem solves to find the best solutions for children and their families. She loves working with children and is intrigued by their development. She enjoys helping people achieve their goals, participate in activities they want and express themselves easily. She values the expertise families have in their children and insights into how to best support them or to help them in their daily lives.

Marly has a Bachelor of Speech Pathology. Marly's special interests are speech sound disorders and language disorders. She is trained in Childhood Apraxia of Speech treatments: Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC), the Rapid Syllable Transition treatment (ReST) and language treatments: Talkabout programs for social communication, Shape Coding for grammar, Morphosyntax intervention for working on word endings and more!

Lauren is a Speech Pathologist with more than 17 years experience working with children. She completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology). 

​

Lauren is a creative, kind and flexible speech pathologist. She is always learning and is innovative in her work with her clients. She enjoys working with parents, families, teachers, and other professionals to help her clients to achieve their goals.

​

She has worked across several different settings, including private practice, community health, early intervention and schools. She has experience working with children from 1 to 18 years of age with speech, language, literacy and/or learning difficulties, including those diagnosed with conditions such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Global Developmental Delay and hearing impairment.

​

Her particular interests are speech sound disorders, and literacy (reading and writing/spelling) difficulties.

She uses a number of different approaches and programs in her work, including: Sounds-Write, Hanen- It Takes Two to Talk, Nuffield Dyspraxia Program- 3rd Edition (NDP3), PROMPT, Key Word Sign and Rapid Syllable Transition treatment (ReST).

Laibah Naseer

Laibah is a kind, helpful and organised member of our Client Experience Team! She is here to help us all meet our goals by organising sessions, answering queries and supporting the day to day running of our clinic.

 

Laibah is completing the final year of her Masters of Speech Pathology at The University of Sydney. 

 

She finds working with families and children rewarding. ​You might see her in the clinic, talk to her on the phone or email.

Jess is who you will talk to most times you call us! She helps us with finding out how to best help you and books our appointments in blocks to help us reach our goals.

Jess is a friendly, very hardworking, encouraging and organised member of our team. She is a trained chef and helps the Remarkable team and her clients stay on track by breaking things down into steps and helping us follow through!
 

Jess can work in conjunction with speech pathology sessions or complete speech pathology programs to fit your schedule and increase your child's treatment intensity.

​

She loves helping clients meet their goals under supervision from the speech pathologists on our team. She has allied health training as well as training in programs we deliver such as Sounds-Write, Talkabout, Key Word Sign and Rapid Syllable Transition (ResT) treatment.
